Better feedback when an import fails due to "Only import specified records" setting

If the import fails because "Only import specified records" is ticked, and set to a range that exceeds the number of records in the file, there are zero errors - anywhere! An importer log isn't created, and the server log has nothing either. It was only after uploading a different XML file that I was shown an error relating to this setting.
Can the "import terminated, check server logs" message be updated to include something more useful, to let us know it's the "Only import specified records" setting is the problem?
